Introducing the NanoMat by Red Sea, a fully automated, plug & play fleece roller filter designed to keep your aquarium water crystal clear for weeks at a time. The NanoMat is engineered as a drop-in replacement for Red Sea & standard 4” filter socks and is perfectly suited for the rear sump of the Max Nano G2 all-in-one systems.
Equipped with a smart processor-controlled drive unit and dual-level sensors, the NanoMat automatically advances the fleece roll whenever it detects a blockage, ensuring consistent water clarity. The innovative high-water level sensor halts the auto advance during maintenance or feeding, preventing unnecessary fleece usage. Unlike the larger ReefMats, the NanoMat doesn't require any apps or internet connectivity, offering a simple and reliable filtration solution.
Why Should You Use an Automatic Fleece Roller Filter?
Traditional filter socks or pads can quickly become clogged with detritus, uneaten food, and particulate matter. An automatic fleece filter roller regularly replaces dirty fleece with clean fleece, ensuring that water is always being filtered through clean material. The result is crystal clear water, decreased nutrient build-up, and much less maintenance. Each NanoMat fleece roll lasts approximately 4 weeks, but will vary from system to system.

No more changing filter socks in my desktop peninsula.
Although Red Sea says the Nanomat is designed to fir the Max Nano G2 it will work in the Red Sea Desktops(with some modifications of course). I installed the Nanomat in my Red Sea Desktop Peninsula with modifications to the skimmer, removing the filter sock tray and adding supports to hold the Nanomat basket, and making a couple changes to the Nanomat itself.
The Nanomat works great, and I don’t have to change out filter socks every few days.
