Aiptasia Eating Filefish
Matted filefish are an incredibly helpful species of filefish. They can also be called the Aiptasia- eating filefish because of their propensity to eat the nuisance anemones commonly found in the aquarium trade like aiptasia, mojanos, and hydroids. These interesting little filefish have the ability to change coloration and blend in with their surroundings rapidly making them fun to watch roam around the tank.

We got the file fish to address an issue with majanos which they solved in a couple weeks, but since they’re an opportunistic eater, they destroyed all my Duncan’s in the matter of days… so now we’re supplementing their diet more and ensuring they don’t eat more coral. But it’s a cool fish and very effective.
